With a background as a pianist and musicology student, Gothenburg singer/producer Magnus Reimer has worked for five years creating his very own sound. He now releases his debut in the form of two-track digital single Throw Yourself.
At the core of Throw Yourself is the electric piano, used to give what is essentially a synthpop song a more rocky and dynamic edge. The song is an exposé of both minimalist and complex melodic elements and Magnus’ theoretical knowledge of harmonics, but this is nevertheless the moment when he lets go and allows the music to just flow to wherever it needs to be.
